Moving in

There's something solid and safe about the Compound that Scotty likes. Maybe because it has the kitchen in it, emanating warmth and familiarity, but it didn't take long for Scotty to decide he'd like to stay in the Compound for now. He knows there are huts, knows that he can move out and really have a home of his own -- with no rent, no mortgage, no bills, just a home that's all for him -- but that idea is almost too foreign, almost too freeing. He wouldn't know what to do with himself, suddenly given a home for his very own when everything else has been taken away from him. Is that the price he has to pay? Because if that's what's going on then he'd really like another shot at improving his credit score at home.

It just feels less... shiny and new to be given a room assignment in the Compound, even though it is new and different, just like everything else in this place. He wasn't sure if he'd wanted a roommate or not when he put his name in, and in the end he wasn't any more or less pleased than he would've been had he gotten a room to himself. He'd been living with someone else for a little while now, and it's just one more thing that paints a slightly more familiar picture. And it might fight off the loneliness that Scotty's terrified will creep in eventually, being new here. He isn't shy, but landing suddenly where he doesn't know anyone is making him slightly paranoid that he won't find friends.

Once he gets his room assignment -- and realizes he maybe recognizes the name, but he isn't sure -- he somewhat nervously approaches the curtain. It feels strange not having stuff to move in with. All he has is what he had in his pockets when he arrived, and since then he did manage to find a few non-hideous shirts and some shorts, another pair of shoes; he carries them in his arms, figuring it's too pitiful of a load to bother with putting them in something, only to turn around and take them out again.

He clears his throat and studies the curtain curiously for a moment before deciding to go with something cheesy. "Knock knock?" he calls, in case Felix is in there.
