So! I just got back from Winnipeg. Cheered for my sister's hockey team (they lost), met Johnny Reed (what a douchebag!) , and went to the comic store (one out of three isn't so bad).

I actually snorted with laughter when I read about your incident at the afterparty. Look what you made me do!

How the Hades did you get Catwoman: When In Rome for free??? My comic shop is expensive as all get out! (And it has crappy selection and the titles are always like a month behind...sigh)

That thing with the naked models is nuts! I don't think you'd ever see anything like that down here. Maybe in NYC or San Fran, but not down here.

And what's Whiteout about? I like Rucka and it sounds interesting but I have no idea what it is.

It's because I was buying so much stuff and he was like "that'll be 135$ plz!" and I was like "OKAY :D! NO WAIT I ONLY HAVE 120$!" and he said "okay, just take the Catwoman thing for free". The same thing happened last year, he gave me my Arana digests for free.

Whiteout is a really cool mystery series about Carrie Stetko, a Marshal who's stationed down in Anarctica and has to investigate a murder. Lily Sharpe, a US special agent, is down there too. They are so gay together that I almost colored hearts around them until I remembered it's not my copy.

The Denny O'Neil series from ze 80's, with Shiva. Greg Rucka has given me the biggest crush ever on Vic from "Cry for Blood" and "52" that an audible gasp was heard when I saw it.

Whiteout stars Carrie Stetko, Lily Sharpe and some other people. It's a murder mystery that takes place down in Antarctica. HIGHLY recommend it.

Naked models in the window? What a strange land be this "Winnipeg" you speak of!

I got Pride of Baghdad a few weeks ago too, but haven't had time to read it yet. We should nominate for the next noscans book club pick.

(Ack! Why is it that I can never type "Baghdad" correctly?)

It was weird. They were very pretty, but they were just sort of sitting their talking to each other naked. In a window. In a mall. Naked.

We should! It looks great, and it's by BKV and will of course be great, and it has lions.
