Gigging like painters do

Aug 25, 2005 07:46

I got in off the road last night from my gig in Jackson, Michigan at about 2 AM and after having been pulled over for doing the Super Bowl Shuffle across some white lines due to weariness (just a warning, no ticket. Guess I was already too close to home to care. Thank you Polaris 5-0! I must have looked like a shopper), found I couldn't. Go. ( Read more... )

Totally whiffed on the fact that last night was your feature in Jackson. Dammit. My brain isn't working this week. Yes, I am one of the Wolverines who suck. I'm sorry I missed it, especially since it sounds like it was such a good show for you.

Yeah, it sounds like a great show. The set list looks amazing.

Misreading your comparison to painting, I have to mention I spent yesterday evening talking to a painter, Ben Summerford, my father-in-law. It's not hard speaking artist to artist. I'm about to write up about him on my journal.

It was a lot of fun to do. I love the long features, making my voice do stuff it doesn't do when the clock is running, panning the river of the poems for ever more gold.

You'd have dug it.

sorry I didn't make it out to see you... my nephew was detailing my car. Woo-Hoo! It no longer looks like a poet owns it... it's clean!

:o)

Anyway, I'm glad you had you a wonderful show... though I've never seen you put on a bad one. I've seriously got to get down to Columbus soon... soon, soon, soon!

Well, after doing a little math... ebonygoddess9 August 26 2005, 16:59:43 UTC
2 hours is not bad at all, but it might be a bit much for 30 minutes on a weeknight...are you rolling out right after? Hit me backchannel, because this is actually doable.

Will likely stay over the night somewhere.
That's a bit of a haul, especially whern you've just hauled in.

Ah, shit happens, man. You want to make up for it? Scheudle me for Ann Arbor. You know I don't feel right unless I feature there about once or twice a year.
