It was a FUCKING JOY.
Both of you guys were so in it, were just super present and unafraid. The poetry was fucking outstanding -- varied and fresh and muscular. And best of all, you guys truly were enjoying each other -- listening and responding and laughing LOUD. And the moment when you spoke about his impact on you & your writing? COME ON.
But most of all, I am so happy that YOU were happy with the night.
You absolutely deserve to be that stage with Kevin, and he knew it and I hope you know it too. And I really hope that your relationship with Kevin Young doesn't end with that night. You guys truly enjoyed each other and each other's work -- I hope your paths cross again sooner than later!
But just a big FYI: I *will* be the first Amazon review for "Ardency" when it come in Jan. For real. Watch me!

*Awesome*
I love these interactions & blurring of page "versus" stage.I wish it happened more often, in more ways, in more places.
I'm also glad Kevin did this~typically it's "Ga Tech"
not "Emory" faculty poets who mix it up, from the peanut gallery/audience view.
More of this, yes.
