Watching Brave New Voices...my god, I could coach a team of poets forever with the stuff in one episode of this show.

Rewatching some of it on DVD now has me wondering how I managed to not write any Poety Is Doomed columns despite my rule. The rule was fair, but...to whom?

Being not so familiar with your brand of criticism, is your first statement a positive one about performances, as in "this is what you should do" or negative "this is what not to do".

I'll mention one thing: it's scary to see a generation of poets raised on Slam. Thjis wasn't what we had in mind, I don't think.
