How to Write (1 of about 10,000 ways, anyway)

(To a comment made in the previous entry about how hard writing is.)

Trust me, if I can write, anyone can. Look here, I'll give you an example, in real time.  Things are going to get a little Bob Ross here for a minute:

Let's come up with an idea, say a story about...a child.  A boy.  His name is Billy.

Ok. Point taken. *grins*

So riddle me this, Batman: What about the opposite situation? I have this huge idea that keeps running around my head, but I'm not sure how to attack it. It's the idea I was trying to do for NaNo, which (un)fortunately won't leave me alone. How do I pull it all in and make it into something I can put on paper?

I have the same problem. I have ideas out the ass. Skillz for writing? I have none.

Say hey:

We can tackle this one of two ways, your choice:
a) Right here in the journal (or in your journal)
b) backchannel

Let me know. I think there's a lot of merit in doing it in public. That way other people can learn from it. At the same time, maybe you don't weant to be that exposed. Both are perfectly valid responses.

I'm assuming this you, so...I think maybe I'm ready to push through some of my fears and do this. Maybe with the idea I talk about in my second entry today? I'm having the same issue - I have a basic premise but it's kind of huge. I'm having trouble singling out a character or voice or event to actually write on.
