i don't know what actually qualifies something as a "beach book"...

white teeth is the new hipster read, from what i hear. blythe has it, and has started it. i read the first chapter the other day and she's got a strange style (it's by zadie smith).
also - fortress of solitude - jonathan lethem
lullaby - palahniuk
doghouse roses - steve earle (stories)
running w/ scissors or dry - augusten burroughs

i dunno. you can always reread confederacy or the corrections. actually, if you haven't read the corrections yet, you need to. it's amazing.

dr = dominican republic? wtf?

i so tired! aaaarrrggghhh!!!

mm i know of barrel fever, naked, and holiday on ice by sedaris... tom robbins is funny... cat's cradle by kurt vonnegut is great... high fidelity is great... i really liked chuck palahniuk's survivor but that's not so beachy

=)

i am going to check out holiday on ice. right now i am working my way through the latest tom robbins- good, very good but not one of his bests. i might read half asleep in frog pajamas again or jitterbug perfume- both highly entertaining reads....thanks for the suggestions.
