OKAY, so I love that you start off by explicitly stating Jo's place in the narrative, both in the story and as the unacknowledged truth of it in canon.

Jo sucks in a breath and holds back the tears and sobs and everything else that wants to come out. Bobby’s an excellent hunter. She won’t do this in front of him, she’s better than this.

I love how hard she gets and how it takes such a drastic turn after Meg. I mean, I don't love it, but I think that's a perfectly realistic reaction to being so alone and having been scared so badly. I really loved the way she and Ellen come back together too and the way the ending feels wide open, even post-Abandon All Hope <3

I'm so glad you like it! I was hoping it would realistic, for Jo, even if it's sad. But after Ellen and Jo come back together, even if I didn't write anything after that, I have an idea of things improving for Jo, now that she has company :)

I've been feeling nostalgic for SPN lately, especially for my girl Jo, and this fic is all things awesome and helps fill the craving.

I simply adore Jo's attempt to split the halves of her personality in order to survive, to make herself as sharp as a razor, only to realise at the end that the two sides of strength and toughness to survive and warmth aren't mutually exclusive.
