Jay? Jay was already there in the alley, face down in the dirt. He had lost track of the time in between the bout of unconsciousness. He seemed to remember than he had laughed at some point? He didn't even get how he had ended there - flight reaction was still good, then.

He carefully dragged his arms closer from his body. The idea was to get up but... okay that hurt. That hurt a hell of a lot too much. He should have just killed the bastards and be done with it. How had the guys even gotten the jump on him?

His head spun. He probably blacked out again, for a little while. When he came back to, there were noises at the mouth of the alley.

He managed to straighten a little - he coughed wet, blood bubbling on his lips, and his right arm refused to bear his weight. He might have uttered a sound of pain.

One hand covered his mouth momentarily as he choked suddenly. His shoulders were hunched as Heine spat into his hand, getting out two more bullets and copious amounts of blood.

He heard something from a bit further down the alley - someone in a lot of trouble, he thought, turning to see what was going on.

Heine walked over and then crouched next to the nearly unconscious man. It was Jason, he realized a little belatedly.

"You look like shit," he remarked with a stare.

He didn't hear footsteps - or did he? He couldn't focus.

He blinked. Then his eyes slide up, slowly. Not enough light. He blinked again. That was.

"Heine," he said. Croaked, rather. His lips were wet, but not with saliva. It tasted metallic.

It looked red on Heine, too.

"So do you," he replied. It didn't hurt. That might no be a good thing.

Leave it to Jason to comment on someone else's well-being while still nearly dead. Heine, on the other hand, had been dead too many times to count, so he was allowed to do it. At least, that was how he thought.

"Yeah, whatever." Heine shrugged and looked at Jason's rather painful state.

"...do you need a doctor?"

The only things that Heine knew about first aid amounted to 'bleeding is bad' and 'don't mess with what you don't know.'

Which basically meant he was useless in this situation.
