[Yoki-sensing is such a beautiful thing.]

[Roxanne knows, even as she moves through the ruins, that Teresa will feel her. If she's fortunate, that will not include her intent, or her focus. It won't include the desperate thrumming of her heartbeat, or the craving in her chest whenever she sees that glorious woman.]

[Does that sort of thing carry through, she wonders?]

[Maybe it won't matter, even if it does. She doesn't stop when Teresa addresses her. Not until she's close enough to see the light in all that golden hair.]

I didn't know I would, either.

[A lie. But Roxanne smiles her pretty smile, and leans against a nearby tree.]

You've been very efficient today. So many corpses, and you haven't even begun using a little bit of your yoki. A true Number One.

[Teresa turns to her now, watching the other warrior approach, although she doesn't strictly need to. The sensation of her aura closing in is enough, and the light, electric feel of excitement. It seems that's always a part of Roxanne's presence.]

[She glances back behind her for a moment at the path she came from, and wonders - idly - just how many corpses Roxanne is counting.]

Observant for a surprise visit. But they haven't been too much of a challenge, so far... the Mist is being kind today.

[For some definition of kind - in truth she wouldn't be against more of a challenge on a day like this, but perhaps it's better not to tempt fate in this place.]

And you? How many kills have you made today, assuming that's what you're out for.

I have eyes! I see the corpses in the area. [Either that or she's been following Teresa. A little. Well, who knows for certain? She smiles.]

Oh, I've had my share, as well. I almost miss yoma, you know. And awakened beings, as well - at least the sort we're allowed to kill.

It's a little odd battling creatures with no yoki. Odd and boring!

Mm.

[Teresa tips her head, looking thoughtfully out at the path behind her, littered with fresh kills. Some of the creatures in the ruins were about as much of a challenge as slaughtering a pig, but there are others, she knows. Stronger ones without an energy output for her to read.]

Boring... yes. But you get used to it once you spend long enough fighting them. You learn their habits and movements well enough to kill. Or is that what's so boring about it?

[She smirks a little.]

I've been here so long, it's like second nature to me now. If there's one thing I've learned in Anatole, it's not to be too complacent.

[What's truly odd is how it feels to suddenly live aware of all dangers, when she had grown so used to sleepwalking through fights. Refreshing, yes. But odd.]
