[Ciel approaches one of the first guests, inclining his head.]

Thank you for coming. I am Earl Ciel Phantomhive. And, you are?

[She has no memories of this boy, for good or ill, which is part of why she chose to come.]

[Is it Black or Lestrange? Merlin's teat, she doesn't really know. Her memories of Rodolphus are almost ...afterimages, with holes betwixt and between. She she chooses not to address it at all.]

[As always, Sebastian is making the rounds with trays of wine and little snacky foods if you'd rather imbibe or nibble than sit down for a meal.]

[Trickster plucks a snack off the tray and looks around, presumably admiring the decorations]

[He follows Trickster's gaze and knows he's probably supposed to be giving credit where it's due.]

Thank you for the decorations. You saved me a lot of time doing it myself.

[She's just here to observe and take notes. She just happens to be standing near the dance floor while she's doing it.]

[And Verity is not far off, in her unpretentious evening dress and just having set down a glass. She has no particular desire to dance - since the person she most wants to dance with isn't here - so she approaches the other wallflower instead.]

[Naoto is still very much in her only set of clothes, including the blue peacoat and some teal plaid pants. And the hat, of course. She's also possibly smaller than you might have imagined. Even with thick-soled boots, she's barely taller than five feet.

Still, she tries to smile, because Verity is the only attendant she's recognized so far, and she's feeling rather awkward about it.]

[Later on in the evening, Sebastian swoops down on the earl, offering an extra plate of cake from a tray balanced deftly on one hand. As he bends down, he speaks.]

[Also, another question, although unspoken: have you encountered anyone interesting? This was meant to be a reconnaissance mission of sorts, after all.]
