[Sebastian stands at a respectable distance, taking a moment to assess the situation, now that Ciel's attack has subsided. The smell of cigarette smoke still permeates the air. The boy is dirty, terrified, and injured. Explaining Sebastian's real role to him is likely pointless, so he's sticking to the "replacement butler" story.]

You have been taken away from that place, young master. Those people cannot hurt you anymore. I have been hired to make sure of that.

[ While breaking and entering is a far cry from being included in Ukitake's usual repertoire, he is skilled in the matter all the same, and makes short work of infiltrating the mansion. Surely the action can be forgiven, under present circumstance, where there is a child (one who cannot stand on his own; one who has collapsed before the Shinigami's eyes) in need of medical assistance. Easily enough, he finds his way to the suite of rooms which holds two presences, both distinct in their own right - one, human, decidedly the boy, and another...

Another which makes Ukitake soundlessly drop out of shunpo before making his own presence known, lest the sheer speed of his movements be perceived as a threat. ]

[Well. Before Ciel can even think of a response for his new guardian, the man from before appears. The boy looks from one to the other, taking slow, deep breaths. His breathing, of course, is back to normal. But, all of the anguish and pain from before... is present, lingering on every inch of his skin.]

[He's tired. So, so tired.]

[The presence that appears on Sebastian's periphery is so sudden he doesn't have a chance to react to it until the white-haired man is already walking into the room. Sebastian straightens, and turns. His eyes narrow.

A reaper.

And not the sort Sebastian is used to dealing with, either. No glasses, no business suit, no scythe. And an air that he actually cares about the well-being of the human in the room. Sebastian immediately steps in front of Ciel, a gesture that could be viewed as protective... or perhaps possessive.

But the boy has already expressed consent. And it's true that Sebastian can do little for Ciel's physical injuries on his own. If he sends the reaper away, he would just be forced to take Ciel to the clinic. And the health of his master - even though this child isn't quite his master yet - is more important to a butler's aesthetics.

Cautiously, he steps aside and allows the man to approach.]
