That pressure was what drew Gwen out of her home. She didn't know what it was, where it was coming from - only that she'd never felt anything like it. The feel set her teeth on edge, made her uncomfortable.

She didn't see where the Vasto Lord perched as she walked down the road, rubbing her arms, her steps sluggish. All the same, she scanned her surroundings carefully, watching for a sign of whatever made that sense of pressure.

Green eyes immediately fixated on the figure below, curious as to how the girl was still able to move. Such resilience couldn't be that of a normal human. He watched, head tilting slightly to the side.

And then very silently he let himself fall from the ledge, wings spreading to slow his descent. His landing- not several meters from Gwen- could be called graceful, touching the ground feet-first before settling in a crouch with a clawed hand to even out his balance. Then he arose like a white flame, a gangly humanoid form in monochrome with piercing eyes of green.

It wasn't, though the effort to continue moving was a heavy drain on her energy. She wasn't as strong as her grandmother, though Verona seemed to think she had the potential to be at least better than her cousin Sunny.

There - the sense of something nearing, as Ulquiorra landed in front of her caused her to startle. "Whoah!" First thought: Alien? It wasn't attacking people like the beasts in the ruins did, though it was still early yet. And there was something ... about it.

"So you're what's causing it... who -- what are you?"

So not only could this one still move in his presence, but she could see him as well! It was very strange, especially since it had been scores of years since he had ever set foot in the realm of the living. But perhaps it was something to do with this place as well. The girl herself had some sort of interesting feel to her, but he couldn't say what exactly.

Stranger still, the girl spoke to him. Wasn't she afraid? Or had living beings just become all that much bolder..?

It had been so long since he had last spoken to anyone, or anything. Days, weeks, months and years- they meant nothing in Hueco Mundo. Survival was measured by strength, and once you had managed to claw your way to the top of the food chain, there was nothing but a vast emptiness. Those that reached that plateau found those few that like them, had surpassed the need to struggle amidst the barbaric souls that continued to live under an "eat or be eaten" mentality. They had risen from monsters, but even so, they were still...
