[Tseng wasn't sure he liked the chocobo. As a general rule, he hated them. They were unreliable. They bit. They kicked. They threw you into a swamp and then dumped your gear so you had nothing dry to change into.]

[Yes, it was a personal vendetta against chocobos. This one had been behaving thus far. A normal yellow, and a male, and one that warked and kwehed an average amount. It could have been much worse. ]

[He was at a loss for what to say currently. Horses were strange as well, but it seemed to get along with the chocobo. Who needed a new name since Zack hadn't ever mentioned it. ]

I remember the first time I saw a chocobo!

[Well, why not launch into chit chat? Priscilla patted the chocobo on the beak.]

Zack had just found it, and he was so excited about it. Now, personally... I've never seen a bird larger than a chicken, and I guess Elena told me a few times that her world had giant chickens that people rode around, but... it was definitely hard to imagine.

[And yet here it is. Looking at her.]

[All yellow and chickeny.]

...why don't you just call them giant chickens?

[Tseng smiles a bit at that, almost close to a chuckle.] The General...that is, Sephiroth...he named his chocobo "Big Chicken". The other was named "Yellow". Because, obviously, it had been yellow. "He wasn't particularly imaginative but it certain amused everyone to fill out forms for Big Chicken.

[He pats this chocobo, who accepts the patting then starts trying to steal the apple from the horse. He feeds it some greens he's rummaged up instead.] I admit I prefer machines. Chocobos are...unpredictable. They also have a very awkward gait.

BUT THEY'RE SO CUTE.

[Priscilla blinks three times during that description of Sephiroth's chocobo (Sephiroth... doesn't she remember someone with that name vaguely floating around Anatole?), trying to imagine someone filling out Very Serious Paperwork about a ... well huge bird named Big Chicken.]

[The thought makes her blink a fourth time when he's done.]

I don't really know much about machines. [She gives him a sort of awkward smile. A bit sheepish, maybe, and slips the chocobo a piece of apple.] On my world, we didn't have any at all. And I've only ever ridden one here - a motor... bike? Senji let me ride his. For a bit.

[And now she's wondering what happened to it. She rubs her face. Which smell like apples.]But I think all living things are unpredictable to some degree. I mean. It's hard to know what they'll do
