[It was, as usual, the curiosity that drew him to her. He would have found Clare eventually anyway - in all the chaos, he could hardly be expected to sit still, couldn't he? - but with the sudden creation of this... unnatural thing, the flicker of that familiar yoki colliding with it, it was impossible to keep away any longer.]

[What was she up to now, that girl?]

[And by the time he sees her, he should probably look more surprised. But he doesn't, except with a slight angle to his gaze, a curious tip of the head.]

You're whole again.

Yes.

[ All her attention is trained on him, straining to track his energy, waiting in case he moves: she knows from experience how deadly Rigaldo's speed could be. ]

[ But she extends her new leg, rotates the ankle a little. ]

People are always... giving me gifts.

[ Of course, Rafaela hadn't done this deliberately; she isn't sure there's anything left of her consciousness in there. It had been Clare's triumph over her humanity that had roused this dread beast last time, after all. But it feels like a parting remark, a final blessing from a dear friend. ]

[His gaze flicks down to her outstretched foot, the movement of it, as if nothing had ever happened to it to begin with.]

It's remarkable. Like new.

[And then he's watching her again, and moving... slowly and obviously, in a wide circle around her. Almost mockingly. Her leg was intact now, but would it be enough to move her in time if he decided to speed up?]

You should be careful. Relying too much on the charity of others will make you lazy.
