[ Alfons is out to pick up something insignificant, but it drops from his mind entirely at the sight of a familiar form folded together alone on the stairs. Something within him lurches with panic that only increases as he jogs closer, watches with horror as the bruises and scratches slide into terrible focus. ]

Quatre! [ Gasped in half-frantic-concern, half-surprise, and Alfons reaches out a hand, lets it hover somewhere between them because he's afraid to hurt Quatre further. ] What--? Are you -- [ Alright? No, stupid. ] -- what happened?

[quatre jerks his head up at the call of his name. for a moment, he thinks it's heero, but no, it's not gruff enough, and heero speaks with a different accent. still, he smiles, weakly, at the other boy.]

Oh - it's nothing. Just a scuffle. I'm alright.

[it's not like he really feels much of it...]

Just a-- Look, you can't-- don't just-- [ Halt. Control yourself, Alfons; be coherent. He takes a steady breath. ] You're not, though, you're -- [ A sweeping gesture with his outstretched hand. ]

Here. [ Alfons rummages in his pockets to pull out a handkerchief, offers it as he takes a seat next to Quatre on the step. ] Your lip...

[...kind of confused. yes, he is injured, but quatre doesn't think it's a big deal. or enough to warrant this kind of spastic reaction, anyway. but he takes the handkerchief and presses it to his lip in hopes it calms alfons some.

when he pulls it away:] Really, I'm alright. You don't have to worry.
