Rude looked up toward the Door, noticing the towering figure in his peripheral vision. He jumped back in surprise; the man must have been at least three feet taller than he was! His jaw dropping, he looked up to the other's face, then struggled to regain his composure. He'd almost forgotten what he was here for, but fortunately this man had the right answer.

"Task... Force?"

He vaguely remembered a Forge invitation for something, but his memory was worse than usual. He moved toward the Door, his sunglasses reflecting the images that flew by, and reached his hand into the entrance curiously.

"What do you know so far?"

Rude thought it best to be diplomatic in this situation. He felt uncomfortable around people taller than him, but he tried not to let it bother him. His nostrils flared as he inhaled deeply, then coughed slightly from the smoke of the man's cigar.

Crocodile turned his head and the fur on his collar grazed his ringed ear slightly. Yellow eyes engulfed Rude, examining him with some mild curiosity. "Task Force," he repeated in a low tone, tongue brushing tightly-woven tobacco. "They claim to be a patrol unit here with the ability to enact some sort of jurisdiction in this hole. Rude started towards the mansion, beckoning behind him for the other to follow. His respect for this man was growing already, but he didn't want to show it. The other had some valid points, points which even Rude hadn't thought of. So a few more questions were in order, and perhaps this- Rude stopped. He didn't even know who this figure was. He'd been told before, but names always eluded him. Closing his eyes, he tried to remember, but nothing came up. He continued on slowly, annoyed with himself.

There were a few people in the park, though he knew none of them. He brushed himself down, then put his notepad and pen in his inside pocket. His hands felt frozen, even with the gloves on. He never liked cold weather, but this was much worse than that of Midgar's winter. He pressed on, then turned back to the taller man.

"Sorry, you are...?"

He felt slightly guilty for having to ask, but it wasn't common practice to have an ally without a name.

The pirate followed as he removed another thick wad of tobacco from the recesses of his jacket. "My apologies - my name is Crocodile," smooth was his voice; like a well-made martini, it slid past his lips with ease, crisp and bitter. "I never asked you your name; that was terribly rude of me." The wind bit at his exposed flesh and Crocodile's yellow eyes narrowed. Oh, he would trade this horrible winter weather for something dry, something warm in an instant. A desert, maybe even a Summer Island. Anything would be better than this frozen tundra ( ... )
