[Funny, but if Zack didn’t know any better, he’d have assumed that he was living down in Dismas now with how much he was riding down into the low bowels of this undercity. First Kunsel, now Isley, and maybe he’d drop in down on the Turks, given half a chance, but he made no guarantees. And hey, it wasn’t a bad place, not exactly, it was just strange how suddenly his life became wrapped up in this significantly different zip code.

[Training. When was the last time they had trained? When was the last time they had worked on his dreams? Angeal had left, and… that part of him left too, his desire to understand and be understood. It was back now, of course, Shiva, was it back, but that was solely due to recent events. How many things might he have been able to prevent? How many people might he have been able to save, even if they didn’t exactly deserve it?

[Time to stop running away. Time to embrace what this place granted him.

[He just wished Angeal could’ve been here with them.

[Knocking on the door, Zack waited.]

[ Before Zack knocks, Isley is aware of the SOLDIER's presence. Though his Yoma powers are temporarily out of commission due to the strange effects of Dismas, the undercity can do nothing to diminish his hunter's instincts and sense of awareness. He cannot smell the man showered in unfamiliar Mako, but he sees his shadow approach from beneath the his door, hears the trained footsteps gently treading without. ]

[ When Zack's knock finally does sound off, Isley has already set aside his scabbard, sharpening stone, and his sword, and he has risen to his feet. ]

It is unlocked Zack. You may enter.

[ What need does he have for locks, anyway? He may not have powers here, but he has more skill than the warriors, more skill than most of the Scorched combined. ]

[ He starts for the table against the wall and draws a chair out to sit upon. By the time Zack will enter, he is pouring them both some water. ]

[Unlocked doors in Dismas. Somehow, Zack had a feeling that many folks didn’t share Isley’s ease with leaving everything open to the masses down here where the shady was key. Didn’t it just go to show how confident the man was, even with his powers stripped? Hm.

[Good thing Zack was confident, too, and didn’t think twice about walking in, his head held high, his eyes sparkling for a challenge. On his back was a sword, smaller than the Buster, easier to carry down in this den of sin and reckless endangerment. He had come down here a few times weaponless, and that was a mistake he refused to make again. Shame that this sword was a cheap joke, something he hated but settled with on these little excursions; the natives had still sold it at a higher price than Shiva herself could’ve paid. Jerks.]

Hey, I’m not late, am I? [He didn’t think he was, but it sounded like a good ice breaker. Things still had him worried since he tried to have someone else sit in on their meetings, and how badly that had blown up. Lesson learned, he still found ( ... )

[ In a domain where all keep hidden and private their affairs, the man that throws caution to the winds and hides nothing is more likely to be regarded with reverence and discretion; that is the law of people, and Isley knows it well ( ... )
