A shadowed figure in the alley started a bit, the faintest clink of shackles the only noise audible. She had been pressed into the furthest corner of the alley, making herself as small as possible while watching the sky and the mouth of the alley alternatively.

Truthfully she hadn't believed he would come - or at least, he wouldn't come alone. It could easily have been a trick, so when the lone figure approached, calling her name, she crept out cautiously. "You're alone...?" Suspicious, doubtful, and knowing well enough that if he wasn't she was pretty much trapped anyway.

"Yeah. It's just me."

He moved slowly, making sure to keep his hand where she could see them, see that nothing was in them. He crouched down a few feet away, placing the bag that he carried between them.

"I brought you something to eat." Not stolen from Arthur's plate this time. "And something warmer to wear." ...Still stolen, whisked right through the door of an unlucky shop that he passed on his way there. Merlin's eyes dropped to the shackles and lingered there.

"Do you want me to get those off you?"

Her eyes tracked to the bag automatically, prioritizing food over clothing. Starting to reach for the food in the bag, she caught the line of his gaze on her shackles. She hesitated, drawing back a bit.

Actually having the shackles off would be a lovely thing - the sooner the better. She nodded to Merlin's question, finding herself a bit more intrigued. "How...?" She asked finally.

Though the means probably wasn't nearly so important to her in the end. She was really ravenous. It'd been. .. how long? Three days at least, maybe less - pardon her lack of manners, she's just going to snarf some of that food up and wolf it down.

Merlin didn't respond in words. He remained crouched, arms around his legs as he just watched her for a moment. The food had hopefully earned a small measure of her trust, like it had before. But even that wouldn't compare to freedom.

"Don't be scared. This won't hurt."

He reached his hands out slowly, careful to touch the shackles themselves. He focused on them for less than a heartbeat before murmuring the magic words...literally.

"Unspanne thas maegth."

Merlin's eyes glowed gold right as they popped off. He withdrew his hands then, offering a faint smile.

"How's the bread?"
