[Click. On comes a video of a stone floor, then what seems to be a burnt carcass of what looks to be like some sort of mutated wolf is thrown on to the floor.]

I haven't been having the best sleep lately, so I decided to do a bit of hunting.

[And down goes another burnt monster carcass.]

These aren't very appetizing, don't you think so?

You... went out there? Hunting?

[blinks, rubbing at the tip of his nose as he sees another monster dropped]

They really don't look too appetizing... but I bet you can do something to make them work. Was it a hard kill? How far did you have to go?

[Sorry, he's curious because his friend is thinking of doing some hunting too...]

Yes, I did. It was quite a good exercise, but the catch isn't so appetizing and I don't think they're really meant for eating besides the various game creatures like rabbits and deer.

I didn't go too far, really. And this bounty felt like a warm-up for these sleepy bones.

Hmmm... so there are edible creatures out there. Good.

Are those the only creatures you came across then?

[VOICE]

No, not really. I caught myself some game. And there was one creature I couldn't take home to show. Too bad, it was a rather dramatic feat and someone's life was spared.

[Had a horrendous night. Hardly any sleep at all. Sat up at the window, staring out listlessly with a hundred emotions swirling around, each one vying for her attention.

Her eyes are a bit foggy and she's very hungry. She leans against the wall to check her device for any new messages and encounters this.

Not exactly the first thing one wants to see in the morning, but because her appetite is so strong, she isn't immediately disturbed by the burnt monster carcass.]

What do they taste like?

[She couldn't stop herself from asking this unimportant question in a sea of important ones that she should have asked.]

I've never thought of partaking in this kind of flesh, really. Although a hunter told me that it was edible. It could be worth a try.

[Assumes by that comment that he hasn't had any yet.]

But there is other food here, isn't there?

Of course. There were rabbits and some birds that were caught during the hunt. Those were appetizing.

[He's getting the feeling that the other person on the line is really hungry]

Can't be any worse than that damn cafeteria back at the Shinra building. For a company with so much money, their food was barely edible.

[A chuckle there.]

Ah, yes. The damned cafeteria food. It makes you wonder if their food was experimented on by the science department.

[There's an awkward moment of silence at the mention of the science department, and his laugh is anything but normal or cheerful.]

Nothing would surprise me from them.

[Ah. Genesis notices the laugh and remembers what had happened to Zack during Nibelheim. He feels uneasy remembering what had happened.]

Well, never mind them.

[Goddess, he hated it whenever regret washed over him. It made him want to throw up sometimes.]

[ Unlike the others he hasn't slept since he got here, spent the night doing the second thing he does best: recon. And his mood, nonchalant, reflects it. ]

Next time you go, could I come with you?

I wouldn't mind the company. [An amused chuckle]

[ Naturally he takes that the wrong way. ] I won't get in the way. I'm trained and I can take care of myself.

[O-oh goddess, Rolo, you're amusing him more and more...]

Well then, shall we meet up? I'll take your word for your skills.

[Goddess, this feels like taking a student under his wing. And for a moment, he is reminded of Angeal and feels his spirits dampen a little. Damn memories. Damn nightmares.]
