Intoxication is such a poor excuse for bad behavior.

Not that I've happened to see any of late. [Except Teresa making out with some guy. Shut up, she's not jealous.] Actually, for the most part I've seen a good deal of [incredibly annoying] altruism and gathering of supplies - let's all get together and make soup kitchens and stock up ( Read more... )

You'd be surprised at how nice it is to help others sometimes. I was.

[And how nice it is to make out with Jaime, but let's not discuss that.]

Nice, is it? Well, that's good to know. It isn't as though my entire life has been spent on helping people.

[For money.]

[...right before she killed them.]

Is it really that enjoyable?

[Because if so, she's going to offer to go along with Teresa while she does this. And not because she loves people.]

It's not the same. That was our job, it was expected of us and we were paid in return. No, there's something... rewarding about doing things of your own accord.

Freeing, maybe. I'm not sure I understand it entirely.

[And here it comes.]

Really? I think that's very intriguing! Do you do it often?

I think drunks are pretty common in...most other worlds, if not yours.

Oh, no, I meant altruism! Drunkenness s probably a universal affliction, I'm afraid. And so often used for excuses, too!

[ She listened to you! She really did. ]

[ Just. ]

I don't know what that means. [ alturism, she means. ]

Altruism?

Oh, you know. Doing various things fro others without any expectation of a return.

Altruism is hardly normal where I'm from, either.

Such an interesting affliction! The urge to do for others at the cost to oneself.

Oh, I serve others well enough, too, but it wasn't really my choice.

I wouldn't call it an affliction so much as naivety, my dear.

A calling, or a job?

An obligation, I suppose you could say. I was drafted into an altruistic line of work, and the price of resignation is death.

How strange! I suppose there are differences in everyone.

[She glances at the food.]

Oh, you know. I don't eat very much, that's all.

The best is when you mix alcohol with stupidity, no joke. Working at a bar never failed to deliver hilarity on the people-watching front.

That can't be difficult. Most people have so much stupidity to mix with.

nope it isn't! <.< soldiersblade December 7 2011, 20:00:25 UTC
Heh, difficult? Walking a straight line was the only difficulty for these folks half the time. Add stupidity to that, and you've got a lot of wobbly girls on 6" heels trying to explain why "THIS SONG IS ABOUT MEEEEE!!"
