[All the video shows is the skin of someone's palm. There can be tapping noises heard from the Forge, however, and soon enough the screen is uncovered to show a handsome young man, staring curiously at the device.]

This is certainly not what I expected from death. [He glances around the room, then, and shrugs.]It's much better than I expected, to ( Read more... )

[ oh wow. baratheons are just pouring in. ]

Magic is the most apt of descriptions for it.

I thought as much, though I had always assumed it only existed in childrens' tales.

[There's a pause. It's easy enough to match Robb with the Starks he knows, and he brightens just a little.]

Lord Stark, is it not?

King, ser.

Of course, my apologies. Had I my way, you would have had your kingdom.

[He pauses, then, and nods.] I am Renly Baratheon. Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, do not let my brother tell you otherwise.

[ While attempting to familiarise himself with this strange device, he very nearly drops his Forge. For what had been nearly two years, he had only seen that face in his dreams, and then it had been marred by a slit throat, the blood dripping down onto his armor. It was the face of a younger brother that he had always loved, though only remembered so after his death. A younger brother that betrayed him when he needed him most. A younger brother that sought to play at being "king".

A strange sort of guilt takes him. Though he knew it shouldn't. Time and time again, he had gone over that night in his mind. His hands were clean. Any number of men could attest to it.

He can manage only one word. ]

Renly.

[An odd look passes over Renly's face when he sees Stannis. He is still getting used to this device, true, but -- his last meeting with Stannis had certainly been less than pleasant. It had, in fact, been on the brink of a battle. So it is with some hesitation that he nods his head, and he does not (really) mean to be as curt as he sounds.]

Stannis.

[ Truth be told, he had not known what to expect from Renly. What does one expect from a dead man, even? The fact that he was even asking himself such a question was almost laughable.

Still, he tries to keep his voice as even as possible when he speaks. ]

It has been near two years since... [ your death ] I saw you last.

[ It was impossible. All of this was.

Yet here they were. ]

How?

[There's a shrug, as he tries not to drop the Forge.]

I do not know. The last thing I remember is -- well.

...You're dead?

I should be, yes. It is very strange.

[ She doesn't really believe in them, but that's the only explanation she's got. ]

I certainly do not think so. Ghosts are not as solid as I.

[Well, he knows of Westeros. And being a good little lord he should probably answer Renly's questions. But Bran can't help just sort of... staring at the screen, forgetting to answer entirely - he's never known someone to return from the other side of death before, not from his world anyway, and for the moment it shocks him into silence.]

[Renly quirks a bit of a grin at the screen and pauses, trying to remember who this could be. He does have a bit of the look of the Starks about him, but there are so many Starks he can't quite place them all.]

I am sorry, have I startled you?

I had rather gathered that, considering my company. [Another pause.]

You are a Stark, are you not?

I had thought the same, Ser Jaime. It would appear to be untrue.
