The streets are not safe.
[While this seems pretty obvious, she thinks it bears stating given some of the crazies who live here.]Anyone not prepared to fight should be indoors, in a safe place. These Elves are fast and dangerous and the lizard-monsters are deadly and indiscriminate, and they both mean to kill anyone they see. Basements are all

[A moment of hesitation.]
Be careful, Riza.

What is the Police unit's function right now? Offense or defense?
[A pause. A few gunshots. At least the fighting is a good distraction. Her voice is less than warm when she says:]
You too.
[Not "You too, Spencer." The difference is subtle and she hopes that he won't notice it, and that someone else will. She doesn't have time right now to say all the things that need to be said to him. There's just too much going on, her personal problems have to take a back seat.]

Seeing as what these elves did the last time, I'd rather not have someone hesitate if it would cost them their life.
[He does, but he doesn't comment on it. Part of him thought this might be coming, especially considering various factors that he's been piecing together over the past few weeks. He's not particularly surprised, to be honest.]

[Brisk. She's still moving through the streets, some of the less overrun ones at least, though she still has to remain alert in case more elves come at her. She doesn't look into the screen.]
I've been trying to evacuate the middle class residential areas nearest the docks and the greenhouses where the fire is the worst. Is there room in the safehouse at Outpost 1?
[It's painful to have to be this way with him, but there is the mission to concentrate on. It buys her some time to try to figure out how to make it right with Roy and not be wrong towards Spencer.]

Riza may notice his arrival before the elves do: it's marked first only by a red crackling spark. It makes the first small crack that slithers across the ground, widening in width and depth as it spreads, but there's a control to it. The cracks are the weakest around Riza's feet, only becoming large enough to disrupt balance as it reaches the elves and the lizard.
It's a good tactic for stalling for time, for gaining the upper hand, and in moments, he's at Riza's side.]

She says nothing, but falls in beside him as he enters her little area of this city-wide battlefield and starts firing again. The way is clear for him to fight and she is doing her level best to take down the elves, but they move so quickly and erratically it's hard for her to aim properly. And as for the lizard, the bullets don't seem to bother it nearly as much as Riza might hope.]

And while the elves and lizards stumble and lose their footing, Scar's is sure as he speeds across the wreckage of his own design, easily dodging any arrows fired toward him. It's when he's close enough for the kind of hand-to-hand battle he's familiar with that things get more tricky. One of their weapons manage to graze his shoulder, but he twists away in time before the blade can find purchase in the soft flesh of his neck. He himself strikes and misses, right arm glowing its trademark red through his jacket, and he's mindful of Riza's position all the while, careful to keep himself from being a target to avoid.]
