[ Here's Dean, looking a little guarded and uncomfortable, but hey, he has to ask a few things, so here goes. ]

So, a little birdie told me something interesting' about the, uh, Door. [ The little birdie being a very, very angry Dawn Summers. ] Is it true that you like -- I mean, the normal people who come here start to develop all sorts of freaky ( Read more... )

And what exactly do you consider normal?

[Why yes, Elfangor is giving you the most judgmental of looks right now.]

People come from various different realities around here. What is normal to you may not be normal in other worlds, and the reverse holds true as well.

[ He is up to here with everyone getting so pissed, jesus. ]

Humans are normal -- no powers, no crazy crap. Just plain old human. And I get it, that you all come from wherever, that's why I was askin' if all you non-powered folk were gettin' the Door's crap dumped on you too.

[All the facepalming. Why must you be so thick-headed?]

And still you fail to comprehend that powers, as you might view them, can be nothing more than advanced scientific measures that to the untrained eye might seem indistinguishable from magic.

Technologically-based abilities have been altered by the Door as well.

It's all the same! [ Thick-headed doesn't even begin to cover it with this one. ] The moment there's an imbalance between natural and unnatural is when shit starts to hit the fan. Magic or science or technology -- or whatever the hell, it's all the same and I've seen it all be abused.

[ Oh, and keeping that tidbit of info, thank you very much. ]

Hey, Kri--uh...

[Brows lift as he asks, honestly curious:]

Do you prefer Kris, or should I just start calling you Dean?

Cat's out of the bag, Cas. Everyone knows his name now because he's a moron who blurts out every thought in his tiny brain.

[Hint, hint, brother.]

Thanks, the adults are talking.

I guess I wouldn't know too much about it granting powers. I haven't noticed any in myself other than my alchemy, which I had back home. Which I guess to some would count as a power.

Alchemy? And -- yeah, whatever you had back home just...stays with you, right? It works just the same. [ He supposes. ]

Yeah, alchemy. Science, you know. But, I think we keep our usual powers or whatever we had back home, pretty much.

[ A nod. ] Right.

Have you seen anyone else get any...uh, Door-powered extra mojo then?

It just happens. It's most likely the work of the Mist which surrounds the city. Even people with powers sometimes randomly get more. And in Dismas, all powers are lost altogether.

[And now there is. A Pause. He's heard some of those conversations in this post. >.>] ...I'd suggest the Patrol, since it protects the city from the monsters in the ruins, but you're likely enough to get a non-human partner, so that might not work out.

[Sigh.]

I don't know how it is on your world, but have you ever considered that in some worlds, those of us that aren't human use their abilities to protect those that are?

It's a little unfair to categorize anything not strictly human as evil, you know. What about something like healing? Can you honestly argue something like that can be used to hurt people? Particularly given the limits of human medicine.

[ Well. It's nice that someone actually answered his other question there too, but the many comments about his...attitude just get a frustrated sigh. ]

I don't care what kind of world you're from, the monsters that I know are nothing but beasts -- and that's all I need to know. You think I'm just gonna let my guard down because you say you protect people? Goin' along with something like that would've gotten me killed years ago.

And monsters never heal. [ He hasn't met angels yet, in his world. :/ ]

[ He's realizing his wording was a little...off a bit too late here, and by now his mood is just complete thunder. So excuse him for snapping; ]

Do I seriously need to get you a dictionary?

The definition's a bit different here in Anatole. I doubt you are even normal, not anymore.
