[There's a slight pause as he considers how to go about it. He's not sure if there's really a delicate way to ask why he'd changed his name.]

[There's the sound of some rustling, an animal growling, and then, with a sudden grunt of effort, flesh being pierced by a blade. The animal howls, then with another SWICK of a sword, falls silent.
Break returns to the Forge, chuckling under his breath.]
Oh, how to say this. Yes and no, Kaien-san. I was known by that name once, yes. But Kevin Regnard is dead. I'm Xerxes Break. I don't expect you to understand, but that's just how it is, all right?

There's silence for a little while, as Kaien debates whether or not to quit while he's ahead (and possibly shift the conversation to those somewhat worrisome animal howls in the background), but there's something about what he said--I don't expect you to understand--that doesn't quite sit right with him. When he speaks up again, his voice is quite a bit more tentative.]
