I require an explanation for how I have come to be here. My presence in this place, and the circumstances in which I find myself, are impossible. Additionally, this place appears to be an alternate reality from what I am familiar with, and, as such, is even more impossible

So hey. Welcome to Anatole.

Yeah, more or less. The Door's a big stone archway that's near the Outlander Community Block. And far as I know? No one controls it. Although I've heard it gets its power from The Mist.

[This is the voice of someone making a mental note to go back to said Door.]
Judging-ing from the activity on this primitive network, there is some force preventing-ing the timeline from self-correction, shun. People, peep-ull, are here for long periods of time. I do not like to be repetitive, but this should not be possible, either.

You have visited many of these dimensions, men-shuns?

[The voice speaking is smooth, British, and politely apologetic.]

The level of technology, jee, is even more primitive than what I am used to. Have we been made to travel, tra-vell, through time somehow?
[That would be one of the best of several options, actually. Alternate timelines are supposed to fix themselves.]

[Very unlikely that they are from the same one, then. Sebastian pauses a bit to consider the question... and the boy's strange verbal tic.]
I cannot speak of specifics, sir, but I do know that Anatole exists in a world completely different from any other. And that we, those called the Scorched, arrive here from seemingly infinite points in both time and space.

[He is becoming agitated, and he pauses, as much to get his emotions, unbefitting an aristh, under control as to switch the transmission to private for his next question.]
Does the word Ellimist mean anything, ing, to you?

The obtuse reference to a particular being that had already meddled a great deal with his life. The highly logical approach in text, but the distinct quirk of playing with morphemes in verbal speech. The emphasis on a distinct lack of forests. Hollow houses-- no, structures. Being stuck.
And this one, he sounds very young, doesn't he? Only just arrived here as well, probably. So he speaks calmly, not wishing to cause him distress but requiring an answer all the same.]
Are you an aristh?
[It is possible that he is incorrect in his assumption, but it is best to make certain, to see if he recognizes the term.]

That the Yeerks are somehow behind this place was the very first explanation Ax considered, and it is still his leading theory. It is unthinkable that he should not know how much time has elapsed since he was on his Earth, but he does not. One thing he does know is that he did not deliberately morph human. Whoever is responsible for this, they kidnapped him in his true body. Someone out there knows who he is.
So he answers cautiously, perhaps should not answer at all, but he is too curious about why this human has made the communication private. The primary enemy Ax can think of would never have done that.]
How do you know that term?

Elfangor considers. At one time, he would have felt reassurance at the presence of a superior officer. Perhaps it would be helpful to this aristh's peace of mind if he identified himself.
He makes certain that settings are still on private before responding.] I am War-Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul. Do not fret, aristh, I will do all I can to ensure our swift return to the Fleet.
[He almost says your instead of our, as he is fairly certain that he is dead in the world from which they came, but he figures that word choice would not be particularly reassuring.]

He knows his brother is dead. Ax's human friends were with him when he died. Yet, here he is, and Ax is certain no one, not even a Yeerk, would attempt to claim they were Elfangor if they were not. How is it that he is speaking to Ax out loud? How is he here to speak at all?
There is a strange tightness in Ax's human throat, which makes answering difficult, and keeps him from being able to say more than a few words.]
Big brother-- How?

[Ah, the honesty of a child. But she isn't judgmental or harsh about it. Rather, she seems simply to be stating a fact, and doing so rather cheerfully.]

I was not aware my speech patterns were amusing-ing.

...then slightly less so:] Perhaps somewhat fur, furr-ther, out of state than most here seem to be.
