[video] 002 - comforting shade of cadmium

Right. I have an important question to ask.

[The camera zooms over to a little duckling sitting in a basket.]

Isn't he cute? I'm not sure what to name him though. Should it be Sir Quacks-A-Lot or Waddlesworth?

...I like Sir Quacks-A-Lot, myself.

Thank you. Any reason that you picked Sir Quacks over Waddlesworth?

Well! I just think it's cuter. And when it comes to naming a duck, obviously cuteness should be the main concern.

I completely agree. I thought about Quackers too.

[He didn't mean to watch it at all, and his expression certainly isn't appropriate for looking at small cute things. In fact, he looks pretty grumpy.

But Kurogane can't seem to help responding. Because, dammit, the thing is adorable. Pointless, and fluffy, and... adorable.

Red eyes flick toward the screen and then away.]

I vote for Sir Quacks-a-Lot.

You're welcome.

[Here's a little smile, just a small one.]

He looks like a nice pet.

He does look like a knightly duck.

He does. Oh. There's a thought. I could train him to be a guard duck, Sir Quacks-A-Lot of the Flat Patrol.

There's nothing so important as home security, and no one better suited for it than a duck.

Exactly! And besides, geese are just too ornery.

Waddles is a good name for a duckie!

I bet he's fun to play with! Does he splash in the bathtub and play in puddles?

Waddlesworth is such a serious name for a duck.

I don't have a bathtub for him to splash around it but I have him a large dish. That'll have to do for right now.
