I suppose Anatole could hardly let a week go by without some bloodshed. I'd fear for the population, but it seems able enough.

What news from our faithful patrol? I doubt recent events have escaped your notice.

Our patrol seems preoccupied.

Oh? Another beast in the ruins, is it?

I'm pleased to see that they have their priorities.

They may. There are many of the like around the rubble.

And you? Where might your priorities lie?

Is this sort of thing normal here?

Unfortunately so. I've yet to pass a month without some beast or ghoul or other making its rounds.

Dead or gone. Taking some of the populace with them.

It seems as though the tunnelmen have been affected by some kind of human or humanlike attacker. If so, it isn't within the jurisdiction of the Patrol proper - it would fall to the police force.

...but I admit I've kept my eyes open anyway, as much as I've been able to. [Seeing as she was bedridden for a good amount of time.] So far I haven't seen anything specific. Or really, anything at all.

Human? A run-of-the-mill psychopath, is it?

I believe you or one of you mentioned something called 'Yoma' to me. Does the description fit?

Maybe. I hope not. But the methods of death are so varied. I can't imagine a monster with that kind of... well. I could be wrong.

I hope I'm wrong.

[She rubs her face a little.]

I don't think it's a yoma. A yoma would have just eaten them. ...and I'd feel them. Their presence, it's... impossible to miss, for me. or those like me.

That kind of...? Far be it from me to doubt an expert on the matter. Still, one would think it shan't be long before they run out of Tunnelmen to savage.

Bloodshed might be common enough, but it's strange to find it directed at someone other than us or helpless citizens.

Perhaps they're technologically disinclined. Though what they hope to accomplish with the murders is uncertain. I know little of Tunnelmen politics, but internal strife may be an option.
