[Waking up in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar dimension wasn’t exactly a new or alarming thing for Fai.

Waking up unable to sense anyone - not even Kurogane - was.

He sat up with a slow blink, tried to get his mind to focus, then with a blinding clarity remembered everything that had happened before he’d passed out - the sick feel of Syaoran’s ( Read more... )

If you mean in a sense of a singular leader, no. But this guide has the necessary information about this place. It's called Anatole.

Ah, I see. Well...I guess that can't be helped.

I'll look through that then, though one has to wonder how often travelers get stuck in this dimension if it comes with a full guide.

I believe we've had as many as five or six people arrive in a single day.

And no one's rebelled? No one's escaped this barrier? for lack of a better word.

No one knows how to escape. At least, no one we can speak to. A rebellion would ill-advised, though, without means and the circumstances we would be left in should it fail.

I see. Well then, it can't be helped. I suppose the first order of business should be finding proper employment then.

As someone with experience here...any personal suggestions for reasonable places to inquire at?

Scorched-owned businesses are always willing to employ their fellow scorched. The muffin shop, bar, or ramen place... I believe there is something I'm missing, but those three are a good starting point.

[and up, pops an attachment of the map marked with all three locations and labeled so. ...PRETEND. :D]

Many people join the Patrol, though; they offer accommodations as well as decent pay.

Ah, that looks quite helpful indeed! I'll have to go to a few of them soon then. Thank you for your kindness, though I'm afraid I missed your name.

Mine's a bit long, but you can just call me Fai.

I'm sorry! My name is Quatre.

I've been told my own is quite long, too.

Well it's a pleasure to, ah, meet you, Quatre.

You really have been quite helpful. I take it you've been here a while, right?

[Oh yes, now he's just trying for information of any kind. It might help.]

Five or so months, total.

At least I think so.

You think? I take it time moves differently in this dimension as well then?

No.

Well, it could. I wouldn't be surprised, actually! But I've been here during three separate occasions.

Come again?

[Here, he's switching to video now because that just doesn't make sense to him. There is a mildly puzzled look, a questioning in his ice-blue eye.]

How can you have been brought back here three time, yet not understand the mechanisms with which you were brought?

I'm not really familiar with the...magic of the Door.

[...]

Any magic, rather.

[is it magic? he doesn't know, but that's what the anatolians believe. it's not advanced alien technology, though; that's fore sure. (...possibly. he can't rule it out!) he feels kind of moronic now, the way fai is confused, and he supposes it's normal for - wait.]
