[The feed is an EXTREME CLOSE-UP on Renji's eye as he peers into the lens, then pulls the device back and tilts it on its side. It's pretty obvious he doesn't really know what he's doing with this technology nonsense. He definitely looks a bit worse for wear--he's bleeding visibly and appears to have scorch marks all over his face and upper torso

Well, he and I have a bit of history, so maybe I'm a little biased. He's very set in his ways, I'll definitely give you that, and sometimes I definitely wanna punch him in the head. But I spent a lot of time trying to figure him out, so... while I sure can't presume to know what the hell's going on in that head of his a lot of the time, I think I can kind of understand why he does a lot of what he does.
But yeah, he's definitely a little hard on the nerves for a while. Trust me, I know. He's generally a good guy, though, and I'll always trust him to have my back.
[you know, when he isn't... like... trying to kill him and all.]

...maybe.
[Okay, she would feel terrible. And apologize several dozen times. But it would be so satisfying!]
Anyway. I guess my nerves are pretty raw by now. I keep thinking about firing him, but maybe that would be overreacting. ...and I don't think I really would.
But Kenpachi was much more pleasant. All he wanted to do was fight and snark about fighting! That was very straightforward. I could definitely appreciate it!

Zaraki-taichou was a pretty straightforward guy; had kind of a one-track mind, but it worked somehow. Suited him, or... somethin'. He was my captain for a while, 'til I got promoted to Kuchiki-taichou's lieutenant. I'm kinda sorry I missed him.

I'm not even sure what a proxy is.
...anyway! You see! I appreciate that kind of straightforwardness! If someone just wants to fight me, that's fine!

I just mean that if you're his boss and he's mine, that technically kinda makes you my boss. Tell me about the Patrol? Sounds like it might be my kind'a thing.

Oh, the Patrol!
Well. We have shifts at the edge of the ruins -- and sometimes a little deeper into them depending on what the people involved can handle. And we try to keep the monsters there from coming into the city.
Sometimes it's not possible - when the Mist gets really thick. Because then we can't get to them before they breach.
But most of the time we can keep them out.
There's also a policing subdivision, which is run by Byakuya! That's more geared toward community issues and crimes!
