[Video] First Draw

[The Forge is turned on first, video on, voice off, video off, voice on, video on. It’s mighty annoying, but obviously this person’s new, otherwise…. The video feed shows the public market when it does snap on before the owner turns the Forge around. The face it shows is surprisingly young, still just a teenager with a clean and somewhat ( Read more... )

You wish it was a cellphone.

This place is called Anatole, by the way. Disappearing trains are the least of your problems.

Seems pretty nifty, though a bit low-tech than what I'm used to. No internet.

Anatole, a city, or a town? What should I look out for?

That puts you ahead of a lot of people here, then. It's called a Forge and it's probably the most advanced piece of equipment you'll find.

City. And everything. In fact, better not go outside the city limits, unless you're the type who likes running into crazy monsters and hallucinations.

Oh, and the natives. They won't like you either.

It's that rural? This is going to be a bit... different.

Not really. What's there to watch out for, inside and out? I... sort of noticed the natives.

How do I get back?

Not sure if they have the ingredients needed for them here. I hear we're not on Earth.

What's a cell phone?

And, well, a train?

[Souji now sees what the other guy meant. How can he explain that it's from the future!?]

A cellphone is like this Forge. Almost the same functions, only better. A train is... it's a vehicle, a big one, that is long, like a big snake. It carries people from one place to another.

[And now there's a long silence!]

...why are snakes carrying people?! There aren't any snakes that big. Unless you're talking about a voracious eater?!

It's not a real snake, [he's taught kindergartners before, this should be... well, be.] It's something that human made, like a house, only mobile. It takes the basic form of a really big snake so the wind... wouldn't make it harder to move.

Theme ride? I wish, boy, do I wish. 'Course, then I'd ask for my money back.

Doesn't seem like it. Survival camp?

Don't think we're that lucky to go camping. Kinda picture it like an extended vacation in a place your parents dragged you to, but you hated.

There's a moment here that I laughed. His 'rents never brought him with them sobbb socialinksarego November 22 2009, 08:52:19 UTC
[There's a pause before there's a reply. Souji considers that this man doesn't know anything about him. It doesn't hurt, no, but he hasn't heard anything insensitive like this before. It's refreshing.]

What should I look out for in this vacation?
