In my own world, the Gem Beasts were really the first friends I had. I've thought of them as my family almost ever since I got them and I promised to keep them safe. Here . . . when the Anatolians started going after everybody, I got chased out of town because I had Ruby. Someone threw a crowbar at her and it . . . I don't think it broke her leg. But she's still limping. And there's a scar there where the fur isn't growing back. I couldn't help her . . .
. . . . but I found out who did it. And I said I'd get back at him for it. But Ruby . . . she doesn't want me to go. She's afraid something's going to happen to me. And even though Anderson could take my deck . . . they wouldn't be able to talk to him the way they do to me. They could be stuck here until someone else who can see duel spirits comes here. [CONFLICTED JOHAN IS CONFLICTED.]
Revenge is a poisonous thing. If you have even the slightest doubts, you should back out while you still can. Once you begin down that road there is hardly any turning back.

I think I figured out that bit around the time one of them pretty much suggested I off myself.
I'd like to see you again. [You're probably the closest friend he's got here. Which is kind of hilarious, all things considered.] And you need my deck. [Yeah, he's still on the fence here, at least a little bit.]
[ooc: I was going to have Johan give it up at Ruby's urging, but maybe he could be intending to give it up and then he sees the guy outside and all intentions to the contrary fall to the wayside and he kind of goes "YOU HSDOFSD:FS WHERE'S MY POCKETKNIFE I GO STABBITY." Except this being Johan and all it'd be more like "HSOEIFSDH WEHRE'S MY DUEL DISK I BLUDGEON YOU WITH LOTS OF PLASTIC AND ELECTRONIC PARTS." Also if it's possible and does not screw up your plans any could you set up the log with Johan already in the church? I'd kind of like him to be hanging there and possibly praying or meditating, given that He Has Weighty Decisions To Make and all.]

So, for their sake. Don't do it.
