three strikes and you're out

I should really not be spending my precious break-from-studying hours being annoyed but the brain twitching has been ongoing ever since Junno’s resignation was announced and I figure a little ranting may be cathartic. Let's hope.

*throws my two-cents into the fandom fountain of opinionated thoughts* )

please no, fandom, hyphenated, my thoughts are rambling, junno

It's times like this I'm kind of glad I mostly lurk and don't really follow a lot of people on twitter/tumblr/lj - I've missed most of the fan arguments, thankfully.

Being an Idol is a job, but it's a job that comes with a certain amount of give-and-take between fan and idol that most other, regular jobs don't come with. Plus there's the fact that while it is Junno's decision, he's not the only person affected by his decision. Worrying about where the group goes from here on in is only natural.

I haven't been around much either due to real life obligations but it's whenever I sneak a peek at fandom that this volley of who to blame is going on. It's not even much of an argument; just the one pov that's been washing over fandom every time a KT member leaves. A lot of people tend to confuse fans being hurt & disappointed as fans acting entitled and that's really not the case.

Yes, I agree completely. I recognise his individual rights, desires, and goals, but I'm not about to dismiss the consequences of his actions. KT are on the cliff's edge due to his decision and like you said, fans who've invested in KT are bound to be upset about it. Pretending that we're all happy and a-okay with the situation (as Junno seems to be doing) is a tough demand. This is the third time after all. Fans are allowed to be angry, especially since that anger is coming from a place of love.

Yes, we're in a weird limbo-land at the moment. We can't really "move on" because Junno's still there and we won't be able to see how the 3-nin dynamic works/plays out until he is gone, but at the same time, we can't really pretend that he's sticking around, not leaving for the next few months and we don't know how the 4-nin stuff is being affected.

Uncertainty really doesn't help anybody - J&A should have released a bullet point "here's exactly how it's going to work until Junno's contract finishes" statement, instead of a wishy-washy "we'll try and figure out what we're doing as we go along". At least we'd know something then.

I hope that made sense.
