I confess, I lol'd at Barry the Rockstar and kind of think you should keep it that way.

To get the full effect, you need to know that his name was not just Barry, but BARRY O. BARRY O.

No ... what's that from? It sounds vaguely ominous. :/

Jarrah told me Barry is a terrible name for a rockstar.

I am nothing if not helpful! Except for the times when I am completely not helpful! I have no rockstar name ideas.

But first question, because I didn't ask: Are you looking for assumed names of the OMG ROCKSTAR variety (Freddie Mercury etc) or just normal guy names that sound like something your publicist wouldn't make you change?

p.s. Given the fandom you're in, call one of them Alex and everybody will nod wisely and think "Oh, yes, of course he is".

Dude. I was canvassing the lads in my GP rotation group and the best they could come up with was 'Fox.' Oh, and 'Dave.' LAME.

Some people suggested RL rockstar names and no, lol, I'm not writing a biography! As you are my publicist (?) I will just say I'm looking for something interesting. More interesting than Barry, but still believable. I like ravurian's best. :D

HAHAHAH ALEX HEAD? DOES THAT WORK?

My contribution is based on the real last name of the woman on whose political campaign I volunteer. *nodnod* It is the most ridiculous and suggestive last name ever.

Hahaha, but unfortunately it sounds more like a boxer? I didn't actually want something that suggestive. :P *lol demanding*

Bono? :DDD Or Fox, which is what my RL friends came up with.

I met Bono when I was in LA a couple of years back. Only, I'd never actually heard his name pronounced, just seen it in text, and I called him Bo No (to rhyme with Oh No). Good times.

I did not invent the name Polo Byrne, although he's not a rockstar (having died sometime in the mid-nineteenth century). I went name-spelunking in the local graveyard recently (not as peculiar a passtime as it may sound, truly) and got a fabulous list of names that I'll use for stuff eventually. It may be possible that I'm the only person on the planet that name-spelunks in graveyards. Erm. It's worthwhile tho for original fiction! Truly!

I LOVE this name. I was hoping you'd comment so I could ask your permission to use it. Byrne is Irish enough while Polo is awesomely unusual. The graveyard idea is great! Except, here, it would only turn up a megaton of Marys and Patricks. Not terribly useful...

Oh, you'd be surprised at what you find. I got some extraordinary names from graveyards on Anglesey, buried in among the Huw Hugheses, Evan Evanses and Roland Rowlandses (not the most original naming conventions up there) were names like Una Thistledown and Myfanwy Meirion Arthur. The actual surprise was my local one; there are apparently a few generations of tinkers, gypsies and travellers buried there, with such improbable names as Absalom King, Midgy Gumble, and - if anyone steals this one I will kill them - Mr Valentine Middleditch.

Polo Byrne was the one that leapt to mind when I read your post, so by all means go ahead and use it! I can't wait to see what you'll do with him!
