That's right, hold your Wii and move it around. Aren't you excited?

^_^

Well it's apparently official: the Wii has a set launch date and price. A very attractive price too I might add, although if that article is correct you will only get one controller, and additional controllers (both the remote and the nunchuck, sold seperately) will cost $60 ( Read more... )

Are you making fun of me? :P

I'm just saying that it's quite a jump from the $20 GCN controllers. Heck, even the Wavebird never cost that much.

Meh. I'll go to the mall tonight and see what pre-order specials the stores have. Maybe Toys 'R' Us still has the one where you get a second controller and a game with your preorder. :)

No, I just don't think it's any more relevant now than it ever was before. Extra controllers always cost money, and being able to play with four players always means a significant expenditure. Gamecube controllers over here were £30 on release; they're still £25, Wavebirds £35. Fortunatly, I only needed one extra. But that's what you get with launch systems; you pay a premium to play them early.

Of course, you could just keep on playing the GCN, or get your friends to buy their own controllers; one of mine was so addicted to Goldeneye deathmatches that, for a few years, he owned his own controller but no N64, and he'd bring it with him whenever he went to play.

True. Regular controllers were about $30 on release here, and Wavebirds were $50. Guess I'm a cheap bastard. ;)

At the very least, I could use the fact that the Wii (at leas last time I checked) can play GCN games and use GCN controllers and memory cards to retire my pretty purple cube. I'm in the same boat of a lack of time though, so it if I may wait awhile too. ^_^
