1. You've been selected to read your poetry in front of a huge crowd (like on the radio or TV). Which poem of yours would you choose?

2. When you go on a job interview, what's the one thing about yourself that you want to make sure that you say?

3. Does a tree falling alone in the forest make any sound?

4. With which element - earth, air, fire, or water - do you associate yourself spiritually? Or if your spirituality doesn't identify with "elements" in that sense, what does it identify with?

5. If you are requested to "dress sexy", what do you wear?

It's so...human there. People don't put on airs

This is exactly what I love about Baltimore. When I first moved out here, I called my dad and complained that there was no one I could really just go for a burger with, or who would enjoy working on a project with me, like moving furniture or painting my house. My dad said, "In short, you aren't finding ordinary people." Well, yes! And that is the role Baltimore plays in my life. It's full of normal, friendly, unsnobbish people like the ones I so admired growing up.

(I also solved the problem with DC. The key is to hang out with black people who've been there for generations - and white people in DC are, in my eyes, unusually unwilling to do this. I'm serious.)

PS you don't need to ask me questions - I just liked what you'd said about Baltimore.

2. What recent news story made you scream at the transmitting media while tearing at your hair?

3. What's your most vivid memory of Atholton?

4. Let's say your children take over the world. Bad idea, or worst idea?

efbq made a snippy comment that she'd rather I was named for a Green. (True, yes: Ralph never actually joined the Party.) Of course, Greens don't lend themselves to good, "kick ass" names. We're too peaceful and all. I mean, one could do The Rainbow Warrior, but people would think it meant something different - not that I'd care too much. As a ref name, I could be The Environmental Regulator, but that's too long and clunky.
