the first time i got not hired for a job felt terrible. that sentence made no sense. but i know what you mean. until i moved to new mexico, every single job i'd ever applied for in my life had accepted me. and then, a payless shoe store interviewed me and never called me back. i felt like scum. payless. fucking. shoe. store.

anyway, i'm sure that this job is more illustrious than the lame one that turned me down, so even if you don't get the new position, remember: you know a college graduate who was rejected by a discount shoe store. you will always be better than me.

I never got called back by Blockbuster. I had a 3.95 GPA at DePaul. I had worked for U.S. senators. But Blockbuster never called back.
