A PUP NAMED SCOOBY DOO IS COMING BACK!!!!! .....sort of.

Jul 05, 2013 01:32

So, they're making a new Scooby Doo direct-to-DVD movie featuring puppets instead of animation or actors. And these puppets are modeled after the Pup Named Scooby Doo designs!!

I'm TRYING to hold in my excitement until some information about the writers and voice actors involved is released. But this trailer looks pretty cool so far! It's a Wal-Read more... )

Is everyone else here as excited by this as I am?

I think I'm even MORE excited than you are! All the written text in the trailer that you posted is in Polish - which means I'll be able to watch it in my language version! ^_^ Granted, it will be no sooner than in August (that's what says the sign held by Scooby in 1:10) but still, I'm grinning at my laptop and wiggling my fingers (and toes) out of excitement! YAY for Pup!

I thought it looked like Polish, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying it for us. And I'm also glad that Poland will be getting its own official release of this movie!

Can you tell us what the text that was on screen for the rest of the trailer said? I'm assuming it was something like "New movie coming soon!"?

Sure thing, dear! It's actually "An all new Scooby-Doo puppet movie!" (we have a bit different word order). ^_^ So you were almost right! XD

I'm on the fence but from what I could hear that sounds like Matt Lillard for Shaggy. But wow. Just wow.

Since the trailer text was in Polish, I'm assuming all the voices we heard were the Polish actors. But I could be wrong on that.

I wouldn't be so sure about it. Scooby definitely sounds like Frank Welker. Also, when I looked up the official website of the Polish company distributing the Scooby movies, I found out that the main characters will be voiced by: Frank Welker, Stephanie d'Abruzzo, Grey DeLisle-Griffin and Matthew Lillard. So it's pretty safe to assume that dj_rocca was right. :)

I stand corrected!

It sucks that Velma's actress is the only one getting replaced for this thing (IMO, Mindy Cohn could probably do a more convincing kiddie voice than Welker and Lillard). But Stephanie D'Abruzzo is an interesting replacement (she's a puppeteer famous for helping create the Avenue Q broadway show). I'm curious to see how she'll handle the character.

Muppets meets Scooby Doo?

Actually, I just found out that some Muppets veterans are working on this thing. So, yeah, it kinda is!
