OK, I in no way said that a Manhattan was lame, only that I was being lame for choosing it over something exotic or, better, original.
And I especially cop to the lameness of the (FoodTime!) fake cherries. I had just run out of my brandied cherries and had no time to make more!

well, i have finally found a manhattan i can drink thanks to cocktailwelten...

the elderflower manhattan transforms a broad's cocktail into a ladies' tipple...

2 oz bourbon (I.W. Harper 12)
1 oz St. Germain
1/2 oz Dry Vermouth (Noily Prat)
2 dashes Angostura
