Quite early on Valentine's day, Dinadan may be found up in the general vicinity of the mansion (he'd been trying out the piano). One can only assume that someone has explained to him about this particular holiday, because he may, perhaps, be heard expressing feelings that such a holiday is rather ridiculous. And he may not be doing so very quietly

"I don't care who hears, as no one ever listens. I think I would be disappointed, by now, if anyone did."

"Nor in Cornwall."

"Ooh, aren't you hard-hearted?" Mickle says cheerfully, hopping up and sitting on the piano.

"I try very hard, but I can't ever quite manage it."

"I'm sure that disappoints you." She crosses her legs.

"Oh, daily."

*when John makes it out of bed, he may well be annoyed to find Dinadan at what he has begun to think of as His Piano--so before he's even heard a note, he'll lean on the top of the piano with a possessive hand hovering over the keys* What new violence are you doing to music, duck?

It's a piano. *sardonically* One generally plays music on them.
