download entries?

Quick question. Can SCLJ be used to download all your entries? I used to use export.bml for this before someone went and modified it so you have to be "logged in"... so my old script using wget doesn't work anymore. I want to be able to call it from the command line (or from cron, preferably) and get all entries to my local disk. You know, in ( Read more... )

AFAIK (I've not used 3.0 yet), SCLJ does download entries, It's a posting program only. However, what you may find useful is the --cookies=on and --load-cookies=file options of wget. LJ uses cookies to store your logged in state and wget can read the cookies from Netscape etc. So if you log in using your browser then point wget at the cookies.txt file, you should be able to get export.bml once more.

Doesn't, you mean. 3.0 can't, either.

wget might not work with a session cookie; set the login to never expire if it doesn't.

Excellent tip! I found the cookies option but couldn't get wget to post, so it can't login on its own. But, I took the cookies from netscape and it works!
