Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I'd say that's nice and ominous. Or, as Terry Pratchett puts it, it bodes. ::ponders:: "Deathly hallows." Well, a "hallow" is a holy place, and I can certainly think of how a hallow could be deathly (say, Holy of Holies), but I'm interested to see how it works out in the Potterverse ( Read more... )

According to folks at grammar_whores, Hallows in this context means "secret treasure".
