Summary: The returning Great Light's invasion of Algol is immanent. Forces all over the solar system are uniting to defend their world. Rune is on Rykros, training to fight, when the first breach happens and Sa-Lews is possessed. Fleeing the planet, he rejoins Wren and Demi, who have been building a spacecraft capable of travel outside the Algol solar system, in a desperate attempt to track down a signal from a potential ally somewhere in deep space. The only way they can make the jump is through the same portal used by the invaders.
