So, some info about this year's Big Bang:

--Signups will begin March 1 and run through the 31st
--Writing period will be from April 1-July 31
--Posting will be in August (We'll see how many posting days we'll need based on how many people sign up)

Three comms I know of to hit are biowarefangirls, masseffect, and dragonage_fic. I think masseffect has a new policy on promotions but I don't know the specifics of it, but the mods are pretty cool and I'm sure if you ask they'll let you know what's up. ;)

Hi, I'm one of the mods for masseffect and I actually found this through Bearit's LJ. =]

Our policy is that we (that being the co-mod and I) prefer people to ask us first before posting advertisements for things like other communities and fandom memes. It just keeps things from getting spammy and cluttered.

We also prefer things to be ME or BioWare related, but seeing as there is BioWare related stuff here (and that most of us are fan fic writers over at the ME comm), I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. =]

But that's just my 2 cents. Not sure what Sinvraal thinks, though.

I'm really hoping to participate in writing this time and not drop out. Still have to think on fandom, though, lol. So many options! (And of course my interests are continually changing and fluctuating, lol.)

Question, actually... what if I were to choose a non-scifi show but ended up writing an AU that is sci-fi? o.0 Not sure I would, but the thought just occured to me.

Are you talking about an idea like an AU where, for example, the CSI team have magical powers and solve crimes that way? That would be an awesome idea, LOL

I had in mind one particular look and designed a banner here. Instead of trying to encompass a wide range of sci-fi/fantasy shows (and likely still missing some), I thought that a more generalized banner could work. If you like it, I was wondering if I could temporarily be made a maintainer in order to re-do the layout for the community and maybe pretty-up/update the profile page? Unless, of course, you would prefer I simply send you the coding for the layout style I had in mind. That's fine, as well.

I'm going to need a few mods this time.

I did mention last year that I would be more than happy to help.

That is awesome about still wanting to be a mod. I didn't want to assume and you be like, "Uh, no." LOL Would you want to be the Art Guru? :D :D

I would love to make you a maintainer (feel free to add/modify whatever, I am not layout/design savvy at all, LOL), but I don't see your name in the members list. Did you join the comm or are you just watching it?

I am now a member of the community. *facepalm* I didn't know I wasn't at first. I also made an icon, one little mini-banner thing promoting sign-ups, and one little mini-banner thing simply for...promoting. I wanted to do some for specific fandoms as well, but I figured I'd ask what comms they would be promoted on before I did that. Any particular fandom comms selected yet?

Well, the comms I hit last year were : bsgfans, buffyaddicts, darkangelfans__, ds9agogo, farscapefic, ff7writer, fireflyfans, fk_freaks, fringefiction, ghostbusters, lexxians, lost_fanfic, lotseekerfic, merlin_tv, moviefanfiction, potc_fic, primeval_itv, sanctuaryforall, scc_fic, scc_johncameron, sga_noticeboard, spock_uhura, startrek2009, startrek_tos, sv_fanfiction, sw_fictorium, swfanfic, team_sga, tngfans, torch_wood, voyager_fans, xfilesfanfic, xmenevolution, zelda_fanfic...plus I've got a few more added for this year (Mass Effect, BioWare).

I think the biggest fandoms that were represented last year were Supernatural, Lost and Torchwood...but if you see any fandoms listed that you like and want to make some promo art, that would be fantastic! :D
