[Omi nods once.]

My experience with her has shown that she's a very intelligent girl. She seems to like thinking, asking questions about many things normally taken for granted, and learning new activities. Talk to her. Ask a question or start a conversation about something you know well. And listen. I think she'll pave the conversation for you with a little guidance.

[This is likely the best answer Naomi will get to her broadcast. The woman nods, full lips pressed together in thought as she takes in the information.

Finally, she smiles.] Thank you. I think I know just how to start things now with that advice. So she's a curious girl with many questions? Yes, it shouldn't be too difficult to distract her away from those sad thoughts.

She is curious. If you show interest and curiosity back, keeping her distracted with conversation and activities that arise from that talking isn't difficult.

Good luck, ok?

[As promised, at five minutes after 4 the next day, Omi knocks on the door with a large vase of yellow camellia blossoms, soft pink azalea, and two stems of bluebells. There is also a small blank envelope tucked into the greenery.]

[And exactly as promised, Naomi is there to answer the door precisely when the boy knocks. Though she had been expecting Omi to bring along flowers, she never would have believed him to be this generous. How can she not chuckle and immediately usher him inside?

With a smile, Naomi calls over her shoulder.] Alice, there's someone here for you!

[Alice peeked around the corner. She blinked when she saw Omi and the waif came closer until she was in front of him.]

Mr. Oh-me? [Alice instantly went to stand by Naomi.]

[Omi smiles warmly and squats with the vase to Alice's eye level.]

Hello, Alice-chan. Someone got these for you. They're beautiful, aren't they? Where should we put them?

[Naomi is more than happy to step back and let Alice interact with her friend, though she does place a comforting and slightly protective hand on her shoulder.]

A bouquet for me? [She looks at the flowers and gently touches a petal. She peeks around the massive display before glancing at Omi.] The bluebells said you made the bouquet. But... I don't know... this is Inspector Javert's and Doctor Naomi's home.

[Omi takes back in surprise.]

The bluebells said?

[And in less time than one would have to respond, he's smiling again.]

Well, they're telling the truth, aren't they? The one who made it was me.

[He looks up at Naomi.]

Where would you like them placed?

[There Is a glance down at Alice at the mention of the flowers talking to her, but the doctor brushes it off as part of the girl's overactive imagination.]

How about on the living room coffee table? Then we can sit around and enjoy their presence.
