That sucks. I almost want to make a mistake so that I can use her crappy writing as a defense. The worst thing is that she speaks English fairly well, much better than some of my profs. I know we want to attract smart people to do research here but I feel like some departments may be ignoring the language requirement (or it is much too lax).

My customary reply in times like these is "I speak both official languages. Pick one". I know it is rude but it is frustrating as well!

And really, you should take the advice of "anonomyous" if that class is from this or last semester. You can probably get it re-graded.

I wish i could, but it was from last year. I was so upset about the mark that I just didn't say anything, and also I didn't hand it in till the last class and we didn't get it back till the final exam so it would have been more effort than normal. It's too bad but in the end it didn't matter so much, I still did fairly well in the course. I could have done like 10% better though :S

Oh and if Brock Fenton is the head of bio, go talk to him, he's super nice! I had him for my "bio for non science students" class last year and he was pretty awesome (though slightly obsessed with bats) and the funniest thing was, he had taught my dad at Carlton University 30 years previously!!

Go talk to someone who is responsible for your educational experience.
Westerndirectory.uwo.ca makes it look like it's this prof who's in charge of Biology:

Fenton, Prof. Brock
(Biology Department Chair and Professor)
bfenton@uwo.ca 519 661- 2111 x86464 BGS 259

Office 519 661- 2111 x81349 CB 107

chanteuse: appeal it to an associate dean's office to force the prof to read/mark your work directly

for more tips, email ombuds@uwo.ca

Thanks for the tip. I'll see how it pans out.

Question for you though: Is the school admin and staff really reading students blogs or are you just a really knowledgeable student?
