A Roommate. (Spock, T'Vau)

Spock did not fully support the native Kirk's position but she could find little logical reason to object to it. That she still desired to was...discomfiting.

The door to her temporary quarters parted and Spock entered first. She momentarily relished the absolute placement of everything. The chair in the corner, the desk and it's perfect alignment ( Read more... )

T'Vau stepped into the room and scrutinized it.

It was not as large as she had hoped, and was, T'Vau noted with some dissatisfaction, very sparsely decorated. Perhaps Spock had not been aboard long enough to properly personalize the room.

She looked hopefully for a Vulcan lute, but Spock did not seem to be in possession of one. A pity.

T'Vau went immediately to the bed on the port side of the chamber, and sat down.

She bounced once, experimentally, on the bed.

The springs creaked.

T'Vau raised an intrigued eyebrow, and bounced again.

"The alternate bed does not possess a similar mattress," Spock commented flatly. She was having great difficulty suppressing the visceral sensation that traveled along her skin.

"It is also the secondary. I am already utilizing that bed in a regular sleep rotation," Spock added, almost defensively. Her sheets were already askew.

T'Vau was distracted. There was...something sticky on her hand.

She wiped it clean on the bedsheets, and stood. There was a food slot in her quarters. Fascinating.

"I require nourishment," she announced, and approached the food slot. She had been en route to the mess hall when she had encountered Spock in the turbolift. There was no reason to further postpone her meal.

"Computer," she said in a voice that brooked no argument. "A large tuna fish sandwich...and a n'gaan milkshake."

She almost smiled as the food appeared.

Spock flinched as T'Vau moved to the replicator. The interface, unfortunately, had been programmed to comply with verbal commands. She watched as the foods appeared and resisted the urge to glance back at her sheets and...whatever T'Vau had wiped upon them.

Though Spock was aware that not all Vulcans viewed the devouring of animal flesh as a violation of IDIC, insofar as the natural order of Vulcan was concerned, and likewise not all Vulcans viewed replicated meat as a violation, either, the fact that T'Vau had ordered a...tuna fish sandwich was massively disturbing.

Perhaps it was the smell.

Spock did not recoil, she was capable of handling this without the absolute failure of her mental training. She glanced back at her sheets and had to concentrate very hard on not making a face.

She would merely have to spend less time in her quarters.
