I agree that this adaptation was the best of all. I really liked it for all of the reasons you did. Plus, i really liked how they gave Emma a more complex character. I saw the GP version before i even read the book and was deeply surprised at how much it left out. The scene with GP with Harriet basically has her telling what to say. In this one Emma doesn't want her to accept the proposal, but she isn't pushy about it. She give words to Harriet doubts. Also you can tell she actually feels really really bad about what happened with Harriet and Mr. Elton. Something that was lacking from GP version.

I really like Johnny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightly. I hated the Mr. Knightly with the Kate B. version. He was not Mr. Knightly in the least. I think if you combined Jeremy N. and Johnny Lee Millers "Mr. Knightly's" then you would get the perfect version. ^^
