I Have An Irrational Desire to Hug Daleks

Aug 18, 2008 13:47

So, um Mils asked me for Ten/Rose together fic (she put it more forcefully), and we all know how great I am at following requests to the letter of the law (more like, I take the spirit of the law and then digress until its like the ghost of the spirit).

So, this is one that simultaneously bursts the denial bubble and heals the wound.

Spoilers ( Read more... )

fic - doctor who, its more fun with clones, mils is so awesome she gets her own tag, crack, writing, ten/rose

*wibbles*

Oh, this is gorgeous, truly truly gorgeous. And so like a Time Lord child of Rose’s to do what her mother couldn’t do and fetch her Doctor for her.

I am guessing that “it was an agreement that he would watch her wither” means that he won’t leave her, this time?

(And if you’re looking for a beta/Brit!pick for a fic, I could possibly oblige ... what sort of thing is in the fic?)

*Relief*

This one kinda worried me, for some reason, so I am happy to see people responding well to it.

And, yup, that means he isn't leaving her again. That is his proper good-bye, seeing her life through.

As for the multi-chapter, it is mostly gen, with highlights of Rose/Doctor, set in series 3. And it is very, um, literary and set to be 10-12 chapters, inclusive of prologue and epilogue. It is a bit cracktastic, overall.

Oh, and now I'm crying!
It's a rare thing indeed, a fic that can make me cry, but you have succeeded. This is stunningly, hauntingly beautiful.
Thank you for sharing.

This was brilliant. Totally feasible and believable. I like his daughter a lot, and the idea that either way, a metacrisis would fail. Kudos to the plot bunnies!!

The only little quirk I noticed was that you had the Doctor say "irregardless", which isn't actually a word. I was hoping the Expert would catch him, hehe.

Oh, that icon makes me giggle. I blame this entire fic on particles and a stubborn idea very much too early in the morning.

To be honest, I've seen a couple of people who have the metacrisis fail both ways (but when I saw it, it made so much sense. If a Time Lord brain can't run on a human body...was the Doctor really very cruel there?).

And, you know, I went and looked up the word "irregardless" in my dictionary, ferverantly believing it to be real and found that, while it is included in the dictionary, it describes its usage, in a very Expert like way, as having an "illogical negative suffix" and is "is avoided by careful users of English." So, we'll say the Doctor picked it up in the 20th century somewhere like a linguistic magpie.

But that is my new knowledge for a day and I will from now on discriminate against the word "irregardless."

Thanks! :)
