Well, basically, some feminists objected the way Moore phrased some of his comments about why he bailed out Julian Assange - apparently, he asserted the accusation was one thing when it was another, then he went on Olbermann's show (writeup on a feminist blog here), and Olbermann (I'm not sure if then or later) also said something about the possibility of the accuser being a CIA plant, then retweeted the name of one of the accusers to his followers. Then Sady Doyle, from TigerBeatdown, started a #MooreandMe hashtag on twitter her writeup here, calling for an apology from Moore and Olbermann. Olbermann blocked Doyle and others tweeting with the hashtag, and then pulled this number: “I will thus unblock all blocks, wish you all a Merry Christmas and I’ll suspend this account until this frenzy is stopped.” and flounced ( ... )

Oh lord, what a mess. I personally think it's awfully suspicious that he gets accused of rape right after he pisses the US government off, so I don't really blame people for questioning it. But the Twitter flouncing does seem immature.

Yeah. This situation pisses me off in particular - I had a friend who was raped by her boyfriend and didn't even bother reporting it because she knew no one would believe her (she'd run away and done drugs a bit, he was the All-American ROTC type), and- eh. If he didn't do it, I'm pissed off that they're accusing him of rape, which is going to be dismissed as 'just something they made up to get him on' whether or not he's convicted. And if he did do it, his victims are always going to be accused of making it up with ulterior motives, and, blah. Mostly I've just been trying to avoid it, tbh, but I used to follow Olbermann on twitter, so. Eh. It's just a shit situation all around, I guess.
